Dana Develops Drivetrains For Chinese OEMS

Dana Holding Corporation announced the company will be presenting a wide range of drivetrain systems developed specifically for Chinese OEMs.

The announcement was made this week at Bauma China 2010, the largest exhibition of construction vehicles, machinery and equipment in Asia. According to Dana, the exhibit represents the company’s growing commitment to original equipment manufacturers in China.

“Dana has developed a reputation as a versatile Tier I drivetrain solution supplier that Chinese OEMs can trust to deliver a wide range of systems for construction equipment,” said Aziz Aghili, president of Asia Pacific for Dana. “With 20 years of experience and seven facilities in China, Dana is well positioned to deliver advanced drivetrain systems for equipment sold in China, as well as for vehicles produced for export throughout Eastern Asia and around the world.”

At Bauma China, in Shanghai Dana will display:

- A complete 21-tonne ( 1 tonne = 1,000 kg or about 2,204 lbs) ZL60 front-end loader system with the new Spicer TZL powershift transmission;

- An integrated drivetrain for 11-tonne ZL30 front-end loaders;

- A driveline system for eight- to nine-tonne industrial lift trucks ; and

- A demonstration of new freewheel and lockup capabilities for the Spicer powershift transmissions above 90 kW (120 hp).

Numerous other U.S.-based companies will be exhibiting in Shanghai this week, including Eaton, ArvinMeritor, Caterpillar, Columbia Machine, Briggs & Stratton, Delta Power Technord, and Diesel Progress International.
