NTDA seeking tire tax credit clarification

Dec 16, 2004 9:10 AM

The National Trailer Dealers Association is attempting to obtain clarification from the Internal Revenue Service through legal counsel regarding changes to the Federal Excise Tax (FET) tire tax credit that take effect Jan. 1. The NTDA is also seeking clarification regarding the tire tax credit that may be taken on tires purchased in 2004, but sold retail by the dealer in 2005. Contact the NTDA's Member FET Hotline at 1-800-800-4552 with any questions.

Background information regarding the tire tax credit calculation change and information provided by legal counsel to-date is available here.

For access to this and other FET articles on the NTDA Web site, www.ntda.org, a username and PIN are required to log-in to the "Members Only" area. If you do not know your username and PIN, please e-mail kathy@ntda.org or call 1-800-800-4552.
