Sales decline at McClain

McClain Industries Inc announced sales and a loss for its first quarter ended Dec 31, 2001. Sales for the first quarter in fiscal 2002 were $20,087,599 compared with $21,087,686 for the first quarter in fiscal 2001. The net loss for the first quarter ending Dec 31, 2001, was $152,578 compared with a net loss of $1,122,865 during the same period in fiscal 2001.
“Net sales decreased 4.7% primarily due to reduced truck sales and the continuing limited capital expenditures by the national hauling companies,” said Kenneth D McClain, president and chief executive officer.
