Oshkosh Truck Corp's subsidiary, Pierce Manufacturing Inc, a manufacturer of custom fire apparatus, received an order from the United States Army for 39 Tactical Fire Fighting Trucks (TFFT). The contract is valued at about $25 million, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first quarter of fiscal 2004.

A joint development project between Oshkosh and Pierce, the TFFT combines the off-road mobility and performance of the Oshkosh HEMTT M977 with the firefighting capabilities of Pierce fire apparatus. The trucks will be deployed worldwide for structural fire protection, wildland and brush firefighting, fuel and ammunition storage protection, aircraft rescue, and rescue extrication in almost any terrain.
