Pierce delivers special Camp David pumper

PIERCE Manufacturing Inc, a subsidiary of Oshkosh Truck Corp, delivered a custom-designed pumper to the US Navy for use at the presidential retreat at Camp David, the official get-away for American presidents from Franklin Roosevelt to George W Bush. The Navy Fire and Emergency Services are responsible for fire protection at the retreat.
The pumper is mounted on an International 4200 low-profile chassis. It has a tight turning radius and carries 400 gallons of water to provide versatile response capabilities ranging from quick attack to structural fire protection. Special equipment includes a Bendix X Vision infrared camera with back-up camera.
In addition, the truck carries special graphics that pay tribute to fire and emergency services personnel who responded to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. On the doors is the phrase: We shall not forget! Sept 11, 2001. At the rear is the Navy Fire and Emergency Services motto: Protecting those who defend America.
