Myers, Heil spend three decades together

Jul 1, 2005 12:00 PM

When Dennis Myers went to work at the Heil Environmental manufacturing facility in Fort Payne AL in January 1975, it was supposed to be a 90-day assignment. Thirty years later, that temporary job has stretched into a career.

Myers started at Heil when the plant was just a couple years old. His responsibilities have grown along with the business. He started in the Mount Shop, attaching refuse collection vehicle bodies to truck chassis, and then moved to welding. After a few years, he became lead man on the front loader line, and then supervisor of that line. In 1989, Myers was named plant superintendent, a position he has held ever since.
