Moser, owner of Omaha Standard Inc, dies

Paul Branson Moser, truck equipment company entrepreneur and owner of Omaha Standard Inc, died Sept 10, 2003. He was 85.
Born Jan 10, 1918, in Mitchell SD, Moser graduated from Iowa State University in 1940 and was married Sept 6, 1941, to Elizabeth L Dunlap. He enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served as a lieutenant and ship's executive officer in the South Pacific. After the war, he and his family moved from Lincoln to Fremont NE, where he purchased Stormor Inc. Over the next 15 years, he built the company into a major manufacturer of grain storage systems.
He acquired Omaha Standard in Council Bluffs IA in 1962 and guided it to become a major manufacturer of truck bodies and truck equipment. He also held ownership interest in truck equipment companies in Omaha NE, Kansas City MO, Sioux Falls SD, Des Moines and Humboldt IA, Chicago IL, Louisville KY, and Mexico City, Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Iowa State Foundation, Companion Animal Fund, 2585 Elwood Dr, Ames IA 50010-8644 or a charity of the donor's choice.
