Godwin Mfg Co to acquire McClain Galion

Godwin Mfg Co Inc and McClain Industries Inc announced that Godwin has reached an agreement in principle to acquire essentially all the operating assets of McClain Galion in Winesburg OH.
The transaction is expected to close on or before Sept 5, 2003, subject to the satisfaction of certain conditions.
James P “Pat” Godwin, president and chief executive officer, said, “The name ‘Galion’ is one of the oldest and most recognized in the industry. We look forward to continuing the Galion tradition of manufacturing high-quality dump body product and proving top-notch customer service.”
The combination of Godwin Mfg Co Inc, R/S Body Co LLC, Galion Dump Bodies LLC, and Godwin & Gonzales Specialty Equipment Co Inc will enable Godwin to compete in all 48 contiguous states and Puerto Rico.
Godwin Mfg Co is based in Dunn NC. It started in 1966 as Godwin Welding Service, and 13 years later, it became Godwin Mfg Co. It offers a line of flatbeds, hoists, and contractor beds, and is involved in the municipal contract business.
