Collins to provide buses for New Jersey

Collins Industries Inc, the Hutchinson KS-based manufacturer of Type-A school buses, has been awarded a contract from the state of New Jersey to provide its Type-A school buses through its authorized distributor. As a result, the company will manufacture and deliver a minimum of 175 Type-A school buses under a one-year contract valued at about $7.0 million. Collins said that it expects to ship all of these units by June 30, 2003.
The statewide contract will enable Collins' authorized distributor to sell buses to any of the 1,400 cooperative purchasing participants in New Jersey, including all state agencies, quasi-state agencies, township and county governments, and school districts.
