Brand FX Body Co acquires GemTop Mfg

Brand FX Body Company is realigning manufacturing plants, moving into new territories, and broadening the scope of the products it offers. With its acquisition of GemTop Manufacturing, Inc. on March 1, Brand FX now offers metal tops in addition to its traditional line of fiberglass service and line bodies, toppers, and inserts. The acquisition paves the way for Brand FX to aggressively expand its sales, marketing, and distribution into the Northwest, as well as boosting GemTop sales by adding fiberglass work tops to the company’s existing line of GemTop steel caps and lids for light commercial trucks. “This strategic move enables us to accelerate our effort to market affordable, high-quality work toppers,” said Brand FX President Lee Finley. “GemTop’s industry reputation for quality products and outstanding service is a natural fit with Brand FX’s commitment to meeting the needs of the contractor and fleet market.” Following a transition, the GemTop plant in Clackamas, Ore. will be used to assemble and stock Brand FX products in addition to GemTop products. GemTop products will also be manufactured and stocked at the Brand FX plants in Keller, Texas, and Swea City and Manson, Iowa. This change will ultimately improve delivery times and reduce shipping costs. GemTop will share Brand FX’s current executive management, and will utilize the same type of plant-based engineering and production management organization that is employed in existing Brand BX plants. GemTop and Brand FX dealer networks will continue to operate independently. Brand FX Body Company manufactures high-quality, technologically advanced fiberglass service and line bodies, toppers, and inserts. In addition, the company now offers steel and fiberglass pickup truck toppers to the commercial and consumer markets through its recently acquired GemTop Manufacturing operation.
