Astoria boosts manufacturing capacity

Dec 1, 2006 12:00 PM

Astoria Industries has added a 140,000-square-foot building in Osceola IA to its present 54,000-sq-ft facility in Chariton IA. The Osceola facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment such as flex molds offering consistent product tolerances and finishes. Astoria will be introducing and using advanced processes and materials in its fiberglass products, so it can continue to offer strong, light, environmentally friendly service bodies.

The company's patent-pending fiberglass recycling program will replace wood and foam core construction. This program will include a customer send-back plan that eliminates the landfilling of old, damaged bodies.

The Osceola facility will allow special customer delivery requirements to be met.
