LDV van plant opened

LDV has opened a new van plant in Birmingham, England. LDV boss Allan Amey said that most of the workforce are shareholders and both they and LDV's partners share the vision of a European and world-wide success for the firm and its new Maxus van range.
The first models go on show at the CV Show in April.
“I'm passionate about manufacturing,” said the Right Honourable Patricia Hewitt MP, secretary of state for trade and industry, who formally opened the plant. “I'm impressed by the support the SMMT's Automotive Academy has given to developing skills throughout the workforce.”
