Firetruck manufacturer building new plant

Jul 8, 2004 11:24 PM

Seagrave Fire Apparatus is building a new manufacturing plant on its current site in Clintonville, Wisconsin.

The new plant will house the assembly of fire apparatus bodies, aerial ladders and Aerialscope platforms.

According to Seagrave, it will also have a state-of-the-art paint center, customer delivery center, inspection center and sales and marketing offices for Seagrave and FWD. Construction is expected to be complete in late 2004.

Seagrave Fire Apparatus was founded in 1881 in Detroit, Michigan, by Frederic Seagrave, and moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 1891. In 1963, it was acquired by FWD Corporation and relocated to Clintonville, Wisconsin. In 2003, FWD Corporation was acquired by James Hebe and a group of private investors.
