SMF relocates to new, larger quarters

Structural Metal Fabricators Inc (SMF) has relocated to a larger, newly constructed facility at 1226 Little Gap Road in Palmerton PA. The 43-acre site includes a 40,000-square-foot office and plant building as well as parking for more than 250 truck chassis. The SMF facility was constructed over a one-year period ending in July. The company has completed relocation from its former Northampton PA site, and the new facility is now in full operation. It features expanded capabilities for the company's four divisions:
- Truck bodies and equipment for utility fleets
- Metal fabrication and erection
- Field maintenance and installation
- Contracted field services
There are also larger departments for truck equipment service and repair, hydraulic pull testing, and a 15' × 15' × 60' heated downdraft paint booth. Opening soon at the site will be a retail store for commercial-grade truck parts and accessories.
