Wabash National Corporation (NYSE: WNC) received an Above and Beyond Award from the Indiana Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) in recognition of extraordinary support of its associates who serve in the Indiana Guard and Reserve.

“We appreciate the many sacrifices that our military personnel, with the help of their families, make every day to protect our freedoms,” said Wabash National President and Chief Executive Officer Dick Giromini. “As a proud American company, we feel honored to provide associates who are called to serve in the military with the benefits and support they need while deployed, and to ensure they know that their families are cared for while activated for military service.”

Wabash National was presented the Above and Beyond Award at the Indiana ESGR Annual Employer Awards event with Gov. Mike Pence on April 3 in Indianapolis. Wabash joins thousands of American employers who have reviewed and amended their human resources policies to ensure compliance with the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act.

According to Mr. Steve Lynch, Indiana ESGR State Chair, “The ESGR Above and Beyond Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize American employers providing extraordinary patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve. Supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”

ESGR, a U.S. Department of Defense office, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States. Paramount to ESGR's mission is encouraging employment of Guardsmen and Reservists who bring integrity, global perspective and proven leadership to the civilian workforce.
