Trailer Acquisition Corp., Inc. has purchased certain assets of United Expressline, Inc. The new company was formed by the existing management team of United and is led by its president Todd Bontrager, who to change the name to United Trailers, Inc.

“We are very committed to providing our dealers and customers with excellent service and products as we move forward,” Bontrager said. “Employees of United Expressline will have the opportunity to continue to be an important part of our team in the future.

“While certain adjustments in United Trailers operations will occur, it will function much as in the past.”

On April 17, 1989, the first trailer came off the production line at United Trailers (formerly marketed as United Expressline). Twenty-three years later, the company is one of the largest steel-framed enclosed cargo and specialty trailer manufacturers in the United States.

What began in a single 50x150 foot building with less than 15 employees has expanded over the years to include an over 26-acre manufacturing facility that employs more than 130 people.
