Trailer maker Schmitz Cargobull says it has upgraded its United Kingdom factory and launched several products new to the UK market, according to Transport News Brief.

The changes at the firm's Harelaw factory near Newcastle-upon-Tyne will make it one of the most advanced multi-product trailer production lines in the world, Schmitz says. This will increase both the capacity and range of models built in the UK.

“The new production line enables us to produce six different trailer ranges on a single world-class line,” said Tom Macallan, UK managing director for the firm.

Schmitz also added a new range of rigid-frame trailers and a curtainsider with reinforced sides, specially developed for operators handling large amounts of loose materials.
