Oklahoma Equipment Management Systems, an upfitter of Ford, GM and Dodge products since 1985, recently celebrated the 2000th CNG vehicle conversion it has performed since starting the process in 2007.

OEM Systems completed only seven conversions that first year, but demand grew dramatically and OEM converted over 1,000 2011 model year vehicles, producing as much as 40 completed units per week during peak production.

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin presented OEM owner Lisha Oshman with a Commendation at the Oklahoma State Capitol on Feb. 13. Fallin thanked OEM for its contribution to CNG conversions and creating jobs in Oklahoma while promoting an Oklahoma natural resource.

The 2,000th vehicle is for State of Oklahoma Department of Agriculture. It is a 2012 Chevrolet half-ton Silverado with a 5.3L engine. The conversion included a bi-fuel system and a single Lincoln Composites 21gge Type IV composite tank.

Eighty percent of OEM’s 2,000 conversions have been with companies with large fleets. Chesapeake Energy Corp has been a leader in this category, converting over 1,000 vehicles.
