Meritor WABCO Vehicle Control Systems is continuing its series of ride-n-drive vehicle demonstrations at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, Ga., on Sept. 14.

Sessions are scheduled at 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to demonstrate the company’s Active Safety Systems technologies and are open to fleets of all sizes, owner operators, as well as truck and trailer dealers.
Demonstration vehicles will be equipped with the following Meritor WABCO Active Safety Systems technologies:

SmartTrac Stability Control System – a suite of anti-lock braking, automatic traction control and stability control systems that can assist the driver in maintaining control of the vehicle in response to an impending loss of directional or roll stability reducing the risk of such events.

OnGuard Collision Safety System - a forward-looking radar-based collision safety system that detects objects in a vehicle’s path and automatically de-throttles the engine and applies the engine and service brakes when it senses a possible rear-end collision. With more than 12,000 units sold, the system continues to help improve commercial vehicle safety.

“For more than 20 years, Meritor WABCO has demonstrated its legacy of providing the commercial vehicle industry with the opportunity to experience active safety system benefits first-hand,” said Mark Melletat, director of Trailer Systems and Operations, Meritor WABCO. “Last year, nearly 1,000 customers attended the Meritor WABCO demos.”
