First Krone Trailer Produced In Turkey Enters Service

The official delivery of the first ten Krone trailers produced in Turkey took place when Dan Schnick, managing director of the new sales company KTI and Omurdan Özacar symbolically handed over the key to the first trailer to Ahmet Ertas, owner of the Blok Bims.

Blok Bims produces a wide range of tiles for the construction sector and manages itsr own fleet of 50 road trains. Ten trailers from the Krone-Doğuş team have been especially tailored to meet the requirements of the customer. Ertas has announced that he will order another ten vehicles in 2013.

Krone Group signed a joint venture agreement with the Turkish company Doğuş Otomotiv, a long-time importer of Krone products in Turkey. The agreement was to jointly produce trailers in the new Krone Doğuş trailer factory. Krone has a 51% stake, Doğuş Otomotiv 49%.

The plant's annual production capacity is 10,000 units. These will be sold on the Turkish and nearby markets including the Turkish states, North Africa, Iran and Iraq.

Currently Krone produces about 50 trailers a week in Turkey and plans to double the number of employees in 2013 to reach annual production of around 2000 vehicles - mainly the Profi Liner and Mega Liner series. The plant will be officially opened in the spring of 2013.
