It was time to say, “Good night, Dick” as the Truck Trailer Manufacturers closed its 2010 convention by honoring the man who has served as president of the association for the past 21 years.

TTMA roasted and toasted Dick Bowling during the convention's closing banquet.

Bowling joined TTMA in April 1984 as director of government relations. He was named vice-president in December 1985, and president in August 1989.

Bowling came to TTMA after serving with the American Trucking Associations. He has forty-two years experience in the trucking industry in the legislative, financial, administrative and human resources areas. He also served in the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of captain.

He received his BBA and MBA from the George Washington University, Washington, DC. He resides in Herndon, Virginia with his wife Emily.

“He has worked in his job with a true servant's heart, with concern and compassion for our organization” said Dave Tate, TTMA chairman. “He has represented TTMA with dignity, integrity, and grace.”

Jeff Sims, formerly head of technical services, has taken over as president of TTMA. Bowling assisted with the transition through the end of June.
