AL-KO Kober and Axis Products Merge

Sept. 29, 2011
AL-KO Kober USA and Axis Products have merged and will be known as AL-KO Axis, Inc.

AL-KO Kober USA and Axis Products have merged and will be known as AL-KO Axis, Inc.

Company representatives say the Axis and AL-KO brands will continue to remain independent under the AL-KO Axis Inc. umbrella. Axis Products president/CEO Eric Overbey will serve as the new president for AL-KO USA.

The AL-KO Kober Group recently celebrated 25 million axles sold and 80 years in business this year. The organization supplies axles, brakes, chassis and accessories for RV, industrial, cargo and commercial trailers. Founded in 1931 as a small welding shop, the company now has 40 companies throughout the U.S., Europe, Australia, Africa and Asia with about 4,000 employees and nearly $1 billion in sales worldwide.

Axis Products was formed in Elkhart, Indiana, 15 years ago to manufacture and service axles for the local trailer market. Since then, Axis’ product offerings have grown to include a full line of trailer suspension systems and an extensive array of trailer parts, servicing 14 different markets across the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The company acquired Henschel Axle in July 2010 to complement its line of specialty axles.
