Van Der Most Transport Purchases First Ultra-Light Guillén/D-TEC Trailer Combo

May 11, 2010 4:02 PM

Van der Most Transport has bought the first Guillén-trailer from D-TEC. Since the summer of 2009, D‑TEC has been the official representative of Guillén in the Netherlands.

The equipment purchased is a fully hot‑dip galvanized and painted 40‑foot container chassis from Guillén, made of high-tensile strength steel. The transport company, which is based in Rotterdam, bought this chassis in combination with a dividing D‑TEC Combidolly, an extremely lightweight solution that weighs in at just 11,530 lbs. Together they comprise a long, heavy-duty trailer capable of transporting 3 TEU. It is also known as a European Modular System (EMS).

“This EMS trailer combination leaves us some extremely useful spare freight capacity,” Gertjan van der Most said. D‑TEC supplies EMS combinations weighing less than 10 tons. “And this EMS trailer combination is low-maintenance as well.”
