TTMA convenes in Florida

TRAILER MANUFACTURERS received a three-dimensional perspective of what the near- and long-term market may be for truck trailers when they convened May 16-20 at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort in Aventura, Florida.

The annual Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association Convention heard the perspectives of Ken Vieth, partner in ACT Research, who spoke about the trailer industry; Bob Costello, economist and vice-president of the American Trucking Associations, representing the motor carrier industry; and Don Reynolds, president of 21st Century Forecasting, whose presentation focused on global forces that impact the U S — including the trucking and trailer manufacturing industries.

Also on the program were presentations by 13 industry suppliers. The new trailer components and services that they revealed focused heavily on components on which the trailers ride, including wheel ends, wheels, and suspensions.
