New mainbeam keeps Phantom from flexing

Apr 1, 2005 12:00 PM

Fontaine Trailer Co's new aluminum trailer, named the Fontaine Phantom, features a totally new mainbeam. Its patent-pending design consists of an extruded aluminum mainbeam that eliminates welding between the web and the flange. The 12” flange is integral to the mainbeam and virtually eliminates flexing — even when the trailer is cornering under a full load. After more than a year of engineering and real-world testing, this new design has yielded a light, strong, and stable aluminum trailer.
