Strick Introduces Armorplate II

Jul 16, 2009 12:27 PM

The Strick Trailer Corporation introduced its newest dry van model, the Armorplate II post and composite plate trailer, featuring 101.5” of inside width.

This trailer features 13-gauge galvanized steel logistics posts and .305” thick pre-painted galvanized steel composite plates.

“It’s no secret that times are extremely tough right now in the dry van industry,” said Steve Burns, General Manager. “Instead of setting out to build the least expensive trailers, we remain focused on building the best trailers as we think that they will pay off for our customers in the long run.”

The Armorplate II features a true post and plate design, which gives it the strength of a post trailer and the smooth interior of a composite plate trailer. With 101.5” of inside width, it is suitable for just about any pallet configuration.

Additionally, the Armorplate II has a heavy-duty aluminum bottom rail that provides interior scuff protection as well as an exclusive inboard roof that provides protection against exterior damage. The aluminum top rail is also designed to protect against interior roof bow damage.
Strick has a long history of building plate trailers going back to the original 1-piece aluminum Armorplate trailers, which were first built in the 1970s. More recently Strick has built plate trailers using a variety of designs, but this is the first Strick model that features logistics posts and composite plates.

The Armorplate II is available in a standard configuration or else it can be custom-built to meet a variety of customer needs. Available options include various lengths, widths and added features such as lift gates and double decking systems.
