Production Begins on Travis’ Alumatech Trailer

Dec 1, 2011 12:13 PM

Travis Body & Trailer, Inc. has begun production on its newest model, the Alumatech, which will be very similar to the model produced by Everlite before Travis acquired the company in February.

All of Everlite’s equipment and machinery has been relocated to Travis’ 17-acre, 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facilities in Houston, Texas, where trailer and body production is taking place now.

Travis has made several important upgrades on the Alumatech, and redesigned several critical areas in the nose, sub-frame, tailgate and draft arm connections. In many cases, these areas are stronger and lighter.

The Alumatech will be offered in frameless, quarter-frame, frame-type configurations, and straight truck dump bodies. The Travis Alumatech is the only aluminum half-round dump made in the USA with seamless floor and side sheets.

The CAT scale weight of the base 39’ Alumatech trailer, with 22.5 LP tires, is 8892 pounds.

Distribution of the Alumatech model will be achieved through a combination of the existing Travis Independent Dealer network, and by new dealer relationships with several of the former Everlite dealers.

Replacement parts and service for all Alumatech trailers are available now from Travis’ parts department in Houston.
