Krone wins Mega RH order

Fahrzeugwerk Bernard Krone GmbH will be manufacturing 50 Krone Mega double-deck Dry Liners for the RH Group. The RH Group, based in Nottingham, England, is considered the UK’s largest European freight operator.
The curtainsiders provide 100 cubic meters of cargo capacity. The Mega Dry Liner has a roof that raises hydraulically up to 600 mm in order to take advantage of the higher height limits of permitted in southern Europe.
“As a consequence of our robust business plan we are now looking again at capital investment,” says Ian Baxter, managing director at RH. “In the short term we are buying 60 new trailers from manufacturers Krone and Schmitz. At the same time, we are actively working on a project for our new Southern hub. Whilst there are clearly downsides in the current environment, there are good opportunities as well. We believe there has seldom been a better time to make a major investment in hub development. In 2011 when our new hub opens, London will be getting ready for the Olympic Games, and the logistics market will receive a great boost. We believe this will give our new facility a flying start.”
Fahrzeugwerk Bernard Krone GmbH, manufacturer of the Krone Mega, is based in Werlte, Germany.
