Krone Expands Partnership With Axle Manufacturer Gigant

Jan 17, 2013 11:31 AM

German axle manufacturer Gigant Trenkamp & Gehle GmbH and the Krone group have expanded their collaboration to develop innovative axle assemblies and chassis for Krone's agricultural and utility equipment.

In addition, the companies intend to create and exploit synergies in the areas of purchase, manufacturing and aftersales services. Gigant in the future will form a company within the Krone group.

Gigant is a medium-sized and family-run company that is based in the northern Germany town of Dinklage. It has been in the utility vehicle market for 60 years, with more than 40 years as a supplier of axle assemblies for Krone's commercial trailers. Its product line ranges from lightweight 5.5-7t axles to heavy-duty and semi-trailer axle assemblies.

The company’s product range already offers the super lightweight and low-maintenance Euro axle for standard semi-trailers in the utility vehicle sector, which features disc and drum brakes as well as compact bearings.
