Compliance Verification Now a Requirement of NATM Membership

Mar 30, 2011 3:05 PM

National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM) members have unanimously approved a bylaws amendment making participation in NATM’s compliance verification program a requirement of membership for trailer manufacturers.

“This historic vote will change the face of our association, and our industry,” said NATM President Gary Potter, EZ Loader Boat Trailers, Midway, Ark. “This new membership requirement further demonstrates our industry’s dedication and commitment to improving trailer safety.”

It becomes effective January 1, 2012, when trailer manufacturers must participate in the program to be eligible for NATM membership. Administrator Anne Ferro, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration commended NATM for making this change to the program.

NATM Board Members and members of the Government Affairs Committee will be taking this message to Washington, DC in May for the annual Trailer Regulatory Round-up cosponsored by NATM and NMMA, May 3-4, 2011.

For more information about the compliance program or Government Affairs program, contact NATM Headquarters at (785) 272-4433 or email Pam.OToole@natm.com.
