May 4, 2004 5:45 PM

Wabash National Corp. today announced the production of the company's 200,000th DuraPlate trailer. To commemorate this milestone, the company recognized Schneider National Inc., a 17-year partner of Wabash National, for their contributions toward the achievement.

Representatives of Schneider National, which has utilized the DuraPlate trailer as standard fleet equipment since 1997, were presented with a commemorative plaque at a company-wide celebration held this afternoon at Wabash National's headquarters in Lafayette, Ind.

"The DuraPlate trailer has withstood the test of time," said Bill Greubel, Wabash National President and Chief Executive Officer. "Having over 200,000 DuraPlate trailers on the road, further demonstrates the unsurpassed value and performance of the DuraPlate product."

"By working closely with our partners, Wabash National continues to develop innovative trailer technologies that deliver a low total cost of ownership," Greubel added. "We appreciate the ongoing support of Schneider National and their contributions toward this significant achievement."

"Our customers appreciate the Wabash National trailer for its quality, consistency and cargo protection characteristics," said Chris Lofgren, President and CEO of Schneider National Inc. "For over eight years, the DuraPlate trailer has helped us to reduce fleet operating and maintenance costs while extending the useful life of our equipment," added Lofgren. "We look forward to continuing our partnership with Wabash National and the collaborative development of other trailer innovations."

Introduced in 1996, the DuraPlate dry van trailer has revolutionized the industry by utilizing a proprietary trailer wall design that provides superior performance characteristics compared to traditional trailer models. The DuraPlate composite panel, which consists of steel skins bonded to a high-density plastic core, is utilized in dry van trailers, domestic containers, and intermodal equipment.
