The National Trailer Dealers Association (NTDA) opened the door of opportunity a little wider for Kyle Wiehe, the college freshman who received this year's $7,500 NTDA scholarship. He is the son of Byron and Karen Wiehe, and his father is assistant service manager with Florida Utility Trailers Inc (Apopka FL).

Kyle earned a 3.86 grade point average in high school while participating in various activities, including theater, Boy Scouts, varsity baseball, science fairs, and band. He is attending Lipscomb University (Nashville TN) and plans to major in biochemistry.

The $7,500 scholarship is underwritten by Bridgestone/Firestone North American Tire LLC.

The Scholarship Program awards one scholarship annually to an employee of an NTDA member company or their child to assist in furthering his/her education at an accredited, degree-granting educational institution.

Judging criteria include academic capabilities, financial need, personal and school references, participation in school and community activities, and work experience.

Applications for the 2008 Scholarship Program will be available in April 2008 at www.ntda.org or by calling Gwen Brown at 800-800-4552, ext 102.
