National Trailer Dealers Association convention addresses full slate of topics at 21st annual convention

FEDERAL excise tax changes, what fleets expect from trailer dealers, and updates on new trailers and components were among the topics that trailer dealers addressed at this year's National Trailer Dealers Association convention held October 5-7 in Palm Beach, Florida.
The federal excise tax on trucks and trailers has been under scrutiny recently. Set to expire on September 30, it received new life September 16 when the Surface and Air Transportation Act was signed into law. NTDA provided an update on the status of this tax as well as answered many of the common questions about how to deal with it.

The convention had a huge increase in attendance. According to President Dave Boyd, 140 people attended last year's convention. The most recent convention drew 284.
