The new facility replaces a 50-year-old shop located in a low-traffic, low-visibility site.Utility Trailer Interstate takes advantage of the truck traffic passing by the new location. Management considers each department a stand-alone business, each of which is represented on the computer-controlled sign that flashes 15 three-second messages &mIn order to make service work as convenient for the customer as possible, Utility Trailer Interstate created service lanes that are a straight shot from the main entrance to the property.
The shop is located next to the service lanes. It contains eight drive-though bays (16 work stalls).The main entrance to the parts department is next to the shop.Most of the $250,000 parts inventory can be found on the shelves of the parts showroom.
Larger and slower-moving parts are stored in the warehouse.A sunken loading dock reduces the amount of time required to unload a trailer.Washing operations are performed in the back of the yard.
