Truck shipments show 13% gain over July 2001

Franchised dealers of U.S. truck manufacturers sold 713,721 units in July 2002, according to data published by Ward's Communications, a 13.8% improvement over July of a year ago. Class 8 showed the biggest gain (26.1%), going from 11,182 to 14,195. Other gains came in Class 2 (18.4%), Class 1 (13%), and Class 6 (1.4%). The biggest drop came in Class 4 (30.6%).
