Tonneau covers post sales gains

After taking a 12% hit in 2000, tonneau cover sales have continued to increase with 2002, according to figures compiled by SEMA and the Truck Cap & Accessory Alliance (TCAA).Sales of fiberglass and other rigid tonneau covers nearly matching those of 1999. The trade associations report that 219,966 tonneau covers were sold in 2002, up 8% from the 204,261 sold in 2001. Last year’s sales were 13% above those of 2000.
The high point for tonneau covers in recent years came in 1999 when the industry sold 221,993.
