Survey: Bedliner first thing consumers install on pickups

A bedliner is the first thing consumers install on their pickup trucks, according to a survey of light-truck product manufacturers conducted by the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA).

The breakdown: bedliners (30.1%), wheels and tires (12.3%), bug shields (9.6%), caps (9.6%), tonneau covers (6.8%) and cargo mats (5.3%).

Top products installed first on crossovers: bug shields (9.8%), wheels and tires (9.3%), cargo mats (4.9%), floor mats (4.9%) and running boards (4.9%).

Top products installed first on vans: in-vehicle entertainment (14.3%), wheels and tires (12.2%), floor mats (10.2%), bug shields (8.2%), graphics (6.1%), hitches (6.1%), running boards (6.1%).
