September retail truck sales down 3.9%

Franchised dealers of U.S. truck manufacturers sold 573,567 units in September 2002 according to data published by Ward's Communications -- 3.9% below sales for the month a year ago. The biggest gain was in Class 6 (60%, from 2,816 units to 4,527 units), while the biggest drop came in Class 7 (28.5%, from 4,390 to 6,142).
