Ryder System Inc. has teamed up with the Broward County, Florida chapter of the American Red Cross to help support disaster relief efforts in South Florida communities by providing two customized disaster relief vehicles.

Ryder provided the Broward County chapter with a 1999 Ford E 250 one-ton cargo van and a 1995 24-ft International straight truck with a custom 4,000-lb lift gate designed and installed by Ryder.

"These trucks will prove to be valuable tools in our relief operations, which take place every day," said William B. Epps Jr., executive director of the Broward County chapter. "Working partnerships like this one allow the American Red Cross to fulfill its mission of helping people in the community cope with disasters."
