March truck sales up 10% over a year ago

Franchised dealers of U.S. truck manufacturers sold 782,639 units in March 2003 – a 10.8% gain over sales for the month a year ago -- according to data published by Ward's Communications. Class 6 showed the biggest gain (46%, from 2,954 to 4,324), followed by Class 5 (28.8%, from 2,072 to 2,669). Class 8 had the biggest decline (20.9%, from 11,138 to 8,808).
