Mack Truck sales off 34%

Deliveries from Mack Trucks, Inc. through October 2001 totaled 19,872 vehicles, down 34 percent from the 30,115 units delivered during the same period last year.The decline occurred strictly in the North American market. Deliveries were up 153% in South America and 7% elsewhere.
Mack delivered 18,005 trucks during the first 10 months of the year in North America, down 38% from 2000. The company delivered 1,046 trucks in South America and 821 units in its remaining markets.
