Light trucks post sales gains in February

Mar 15, 2002 12:00 PM

Truck dealers experienced an overall sales gain in February, the result of continued demand for light-duty trucks.

According to figures compiled by Wards Communications, dealers sold a total of 628,031 trucks during the month, up 2.5% from February 2001. Class 1, 2, and 3 sales each had increased sales during the month, increasing 1%, 7%, and 71%, respectively.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that sales were down from Class 4 through Class 8. Specifically: Class 4, -28%; Class 5, -12%; Class 6, -33%; Class 7, -19%, and Class 8, -20%.
