The Kidron division of Specialized Vehicles Corporation (SVC) has begun production of refrigerated truck bodies and dry freight vans in the newly acquired manufacturing plant in Tulare, California.

Kidron is producing its full product offering in Tulare, including Ultra, Glaciervan and Hackney Classic refrigerated truck bodies, as well as the Emperor refrigerated distribution trailers. Kidron will also be introducing dry freight cutaway bodies to serve dealer markets.

“The Tulare, California facility has approximately 142,500 square feet of manufacturing space which we are utilizing to produce our refrigerated truck bodies and trailers as well as dry vans, cutaways and specialty vehicles,” says John May, Kidron president. “Our Tulare facility will serve customers located in the western United States, some of whom are familiar with us and understand the quality and value of the Kidron brand. We have also put together a strong sales team of industry professionals to introduce our products to those who may be unfamiliar with us.”

Former employees of Grumman and the Kidron management team have been working on an integration plan to ensure a smooth transition and start up. Kidron personnel from Ohio are working beside Tulare production employees, training them on Kidron-specific processes and techniques. “This acquisition marks the culmination of Kidron’s business strategy to be a national provider of insulated truck bodies and trailers,” said May. “We are now able to provide fast service and product deliveries for customers and dealers on both coasts, providing a one-stop shopping advantage to our wide customer base.”

Kidron’s Tulare facility is currently building product for national customers such as Idealease, Sysco, Enterprise Leasing, and Nestlé. It is located at 4789 South K. Street, Tulare CA 93274.
