Kenworth expands maintenance system

Feb 27, 2004 12:00 PM

Kenworth Truck Company is offering new versions of its barcode technology-based parts inventory and maintenance management systems.

The two new versions, sized for fleets that are small-to-medium and large, are dubbed PremireCare Connect Professional (PCCP) and Connect Enterprise (CE), respectively.

The PCCP is an expanded version of the original, building on features such as inventory control, preventative maintenance scheduling, work orders, repair order invoicing and counter sales invoicing. A handheld wireless barcode scanner capable of downloading information to the database is offered as optional equipment.

"The new Connect Professional is ideal for the smaller maintenance operation that has fewer technicians and operates within a more limited budget," said David Danforth, Kenworth national parts manager.

The CE includes all of the same features plus advanced functions such as multi-currency, support for multiple businesses and integration with other software. The system enables customers to track parts and technician's time span per work order by using a barcode scanner connected to a workstation.
