Kenworth bullish on work trucks

Kenworth Truck Co. vocational market segment manager Brian Lindgren is telling his customers he is "very bullish" about the work truck market this week at the ConExpo-Con/Agg construction trade show in Las Vegas.

Housing starts have remained robust, and it's expected to stay that way this year," Lindgren said. "Congress also has restored most of President Bush's proposed cuts in highway funding. So, overall, the construction market is upbeat."

Lindgren noted that vocational customers have been most interested in two of KW's recent new offerings – the Allison automatic transmission for the W900S model, and the medium-duty T300 (pictured) for use as a dump truck. In addition, Lindgren added that the Hendrickson Haulmaxx heavy-duty suspension, which is exclusive to Paccar, will be available for Kenworth models in June.
