June retail truck sales down 5.7% from a year ago

Franchised dealers of U.S. truck manufacturers sold 712,958 units in June -– 5.7% below sales for the month in 2001 -- according to data published by Ward's Communications. The biggest drops were seen in Class 4 (40.7%) and Class 7 (31.9%). The only gain came in Class 2 (2%).
