Intermodal volume down 3%

The intermodal volume of trailers and containers on US railroads is down 3% this year to date, according to statistics released by the Association of American Railroads. Containers are up 0.3% (3,424,205, compared to 3,415,361 at this time in 2000), but trailers are down 9.9% (1,438,130, compared to 1,596,448). In Canada, the intermodal volume is up 2.7%.
