General Motors Corp. said it is recalling about 570,000 model year 1997-98 light trucks, SUVs and vans to repair a mirror control switch that could short-circuit, resulting in a fire.

GM said it knew of 67 reports of electrical fires that started at the mirror control switch.

The recall includes the 1998 Chevrolet C/K and GMC Sierra pickups. Of the 570,000 recalled vehicles, about 507,000 are in the United States, about 46,000 are in Canada and the rest were sold elsewhere.
