Freight Traffic Increases for U S Railroads

Rail freight traffic on U S railroads increased during the week ended June 23 compared with the corresponding week of 2000, according to the Association of American Railroads. Carload freight was up 0.6%, and total volume increased 2.5% to an estimated 27.6 billion ton—miles.
