February truck sales up 4.8% over a year ago

Retail truck sales for February ran 4.8% above sales for the month a year ago as franchised dealers of U.S. truck manufacturers sold 658,051 units, according to data published by Ward's Communications. Class 6 was up 67%, from 2,448 to 4,097, while Class 1 (14.9%), Class 5 (11.9%) and Class 3 (10.8%) also showed gains. Class 7 showed the biggest decline, at 18%.
